My computer had a black screen fan running, etc. I replaced the cmos battery using MICMANs instructions. It now boots up to the Dell screen (which it did not do before) However is stops and gives me an error

    UNSUPORTED MEMORY
PRESS F1 KEY TO SHUT DOWN

What the heck is this. I have reset memory sticks and alternated them one at a time. Still no luck same errror, Any ideas?

Are you sure your RAM is working? Use known good working RAM.

Did you have to remove the RAM to change the battery? You may just need to remove and re-install the RAM sticks as they may not be seated properly.

This is assuming you haven't upgraded the memory at the same time as replacing the battery, if you did, try the old memory.
