Quick question. Looks as though my DVD drive in my 640m (e1405 in the US) has bit the dust. Any chance Dell would send me a drive rather than me sending in the system?

They will definately do that. Send you the drive I mean. I had they do this 3 times in a row in a 3 week period and every time they sent me the drive and a return label to send the old drive back with.
