    Replacement LCD's

    ive read that some here have called dell and had someone come and replace the LCD for them for graininess issues. is this free of charge? are the replacements grainy? it doesnt make sense - why not just use whatever theyre using for the replacements originally?

    If you are under the Home warranty, and your screen is defective, then the replacement service is free of charge. If you have the mail in program, then you need to ship it to a Dell service center. Either way, if you are under warranty, it is free.

    They cannot guarantee your replacement will be non-grainy. My roommate got into this whole issue last year with his E1405...I think on his 3rd panel he lucked out and got a good one.

    I really don't mind the graininess, I don't understand why so many people get up in arms about it.
