The one I have is worn off and up until now, I've only done factory restores, is there a way to get a replacement product key sticker because the one I have underneath my laptop is to far gone to salvage and what I mean by that is, it's too smudged out simply cause its too bloody old. Anyone know who I can talk to or where I can order one of these?

Nope, unfortunately Dell will not replace that sticker. You can always use Dell recovery media and it will preactivate so you won't need the 25 digit code.

Actually, if you're under warranty I think they'll replace the sticker. I've gotten stickers replaced a couple times.

HOWEVER, they won't give you a new code if you can't read your code. The replacement sticker is a blank and you have to write in the code.

So ya, I don't think you can get a new code, which is more of what you want. Should have written it down.

Hrm didn't know they'll send a replacement sticker but with just a few characters smudged off it is really futile to try to get the code. Just get a Dell disc, they are quite plentiful.

That's so bogus, I wish they would include a spare, simply cause laptops get old and what the hell are you supposed to do then? Actually, Microsoft should supply you with a genuine sticker after you purchase their product. I mean you are only spending a flipping $150-200 for their software! I just found out I had a recovery CD. I thought I never ordered one.
