The battery for my I1520 is starting to die - the time I'm able to get out of a charge is noticeably less than what I could get originally, and the Dell battery meter utility reports it as "reaching the end of its usable life".

The replacement battery offered on dell.com (for Canada, at least).. is smaller than the one I currently have (6 cell vs. 9 cell), is overpriced (IMO - it's $165.99, and IIRC, the 1720 had the option of an extra 9 cell for $129 at the time of order.. unfortunately, this option wasn't available for the 1520), and has mostly poor reviews.

Can anyone suggest any alternatives from a reputable (I don't want a cheapo made in China knockoff that's likely to explode.. this *probably* excludes most of eBay from consideration) dealer?

You can search on Google for the part number given by Dell for other stores. However, it is probably best to look on eBay.
