I had a Dell mini 1012 and when the screen on it was broke I went here:

    https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Dell/INSPIRON~17R~5720/

I got the one for the 1012, but this link is for the model you have. I have it too and it's comforting to me to know that if I need one again, this site has one I could use. My other half was able to install it in 20 minutes. And it's still operational two and a half years later. I gave it to my mother, and bought myself a 17R. Good luck! :)

First off you need to remove your LCD/LED out to see what the actually part number list as to know what replacement unit you need to get first. And go to Dell site and use your service tag to locate you laptop and what screen replacement part number they use. Then to go eBay or Amazon and cross reference that part number and see if they pull up a matching part.

That sounds good and all but going to something like eBay or Amazon would give the OP a better option to see what the price reflects are and that they aren't spending too much for a LCD/LED that would be so much in price. And going to those specific sites as last resort should neither site can locate a part number for them.
