My moms boyfriend spilled a bit of cranberry juice on his keyboard, where can he order a new keyboard to put on it? Hes iffy about getting it from ebay because the average price of 20$ seems low. Anyone know?

ebay's fine. from what i've heard of other people buying, there isn't a problem. just make sure the seller has good ratings.

in terms of replacement, you just pop off the bezel that has the power button and the led strip for caps lock num lock etc. then you undo two screws, disconnect the connector, connect the new keyboard, tighten the screws, pop the bezel back on and you're done. it shouldnt take more than 10 minutes.

im not sure... there are also different keyboards made in different places so you might want to wait around a bit to see what other people say. i received a new keyboard for my i6000 and its FANTASTIC. the keys are so responsive and quick compared to my old one but others have had bad experiences with their new keyboards. you could also try calling dell and asking for a new one under warranty. it's worth a shot and they'd send it to you

Just in case this happens again, you might contact dell and see if it is covered under warranty. Since keyboards break easily, dell normally replaces them for free as long as you have regular warranty.

okay that might be what he has to do, it worked for the first few hours fine but after he let it set it started sticking again, worse than before, so i guess he will call dell sumtime

You got nothing to loose. Do as kidA suggested and remove keyboard. Now rinse keyboard under water and work the keys to work out surgar. You also want to make sure none of that stuff went down onto the motherboard. If your not sure pull battery and power ASAP.

Now you have to dry it, bone dry(!), under hair dryer on LOW, compressed air or other source, have patience! Should work fine once you get the sugar and moisture dried out.
