Hello!
I have an Inspiron 15 with a Dell Wireless 1395 card (I can get some more model info if this is necessary, but the computer was purchased in summer 2007 if that helps.)
Anyway, lately the wireless is being very finicky, taking a long time to connect to the network. I'm thinking that replacing the card would be the solution. If you agree, then will something like this card work? Or will I need something older as it's one of the earlier C2D chipsets (Intel 965 I do believe).
Thanks!

*Bump*
Model is Inspiron 1525. Doesn't like to connect until after multiple reboots/windows repairs and such. Other computers on the network are fine. No spyware/adware/etc afaik. I'm really thinking it's the card. -
Yes, the 5100 will work. I'm typing this post using my Dell Inspiron 15. I have the same wireless card you have and the range sucks.

Can anyone else confirm that the Intel Wifi 5100 card will work on my two year old Inspiron 1525? Just want to be absolutely sure. I won't have to mess with the wiring to the antenna will I? (Not that it would be too huge of an ordeal, I'd just rather not have to.)

Your system board supports the older type full-sized WLAN Mini-PCIe. Newer half-height WLAN cards like the Dell Wireless 1520 could be installed but you wouldn't be able to secure it using the screw...maybe electical tape would work though! -
