    Hi,

I purchased Dell XPS M1210 almost one year back with the below config:

    - Intel Core2 Duo T5600 (1.83GHz)/2MB cache/667MHz FSB
    - 2GB RAM 533MHz / DDR2
    - 945 chipset
    - 120G SATA
    - NVidia 256MB GeForce Go7400 turbo cache
    - 8x DVD +/- RW
    - 12.1 WXGA with TrueLife & 1.3 MP Web Cam
    - I stay in India and got this laptop imported from Malaysia

Due to plenty of problems, Dell has agreed to replace it with XPS M1330 (will be shipped from India*** - not from Malaysia) with the below config:

    - Intel Core2 Duo T8100 (2.1GHz)/3MB cache/800MHz FSB
    - 3GB RAM 667MHz / DDR2
    - 160GB SATA
    - NVidia 128MB GeForce Go8400M turbo cache (128MB lesser than actual)
    - 8x DVD +/- RW
    - 13.3 ultra sharp WXGA with TrueLife & 2.0 MP Web Cam

Please suggest me if i can go with the replacement or not.

    Thanks
    Lawrence

It's better in basically every aspect - go for it.

    Thanks for your reply.

Will there be any quality difference between india and malaysia products? This is my biggest concern.

    Thanks

The M1330 is manufactured in Malaysia, Ireland and Poland. So if yours is coming from India it was not manufatured there.

It is possible they will send you a refurbished M1330 which would explain their claim it will be from India.

    Thanks Rhodan.

Dell recently started manufacturing (incl. XPS models) in India also and the address is

    M-4, SIPCOT Industrial Park
    Sunguvarchatram Post
    Sriperumbudur Taluk
Kancheepuram Dist., Tamil Nadu - 602106, India
    Phone : 1800-4258046 Fax : 080-25068300

Will there be any quality differences - NEW vs refurbished and India vs Malaysia products?

Pl advise if i should go with XPS1330.

    thanks
    Lawrence
