My webcam will be replaced in less than one week of ownership of a Inspiron 1520. I was told that they cannot replace just the camera, it is the whole LCD panel. My question is... I have a flawless LG LCD (1650x1080) that I really like, will they try to replace it for something other than an LG?

I was told by tech support that they would only replace for the same exact part. I let them know that I would refuse the repair if the tech guy comes out with a different brand LCD.

Have you guys had any experience with this sort of repair? Do they really swap one part for the same exact one? (manufacturer and everything?)

they usually do, unless the part isnt available, i highly doubt it's not available. so you will almost certainly get the same part, at worst, they upgrade you if possible.
