Is there a way I can set my monitor resolution on 9300 higher than 1400/900? Will Omega drivers help? I'll be only downloading the drivers for resolution sake cos i'm not very keen on using it for games...

If you bought a WXGA+ then 1440x900 is as high as you can go. the limitation isn't your graphic card or drivers. the limitation is the screen!

Thanks, Quester. But believe me, I saw two more resolutions offered by XP after i uninstalled the Ati driver. Somehow, they are not there from the next boot. I don't remember the numbers, but both of them wider than 9300 wide screen, that is, leaving black borders at top and bottom...
That gave me the hope... -
Yes sometimes the drivers don't detect the correct max screen resolution at first. But even if you were able to set it higher than 1440x900 on your screen, what you will get is a panning effect, ie you will need to scroll your screen by moving your mouse pointer to the edge of the screen.
Otherwise there is no way that you can display more pixels in one dimension than the amount of pixels available for that dimension on the LCD -
Oh, okay. Never heard about the panning so far... Do you know how to get it? I'm quite serious... My five & seven-year-old sons will be impressed
I'll just show them this magic once... -
I currently have the new drivers with the Catalyst Control Center. So if you have ther regular drivers (no CCC) this setting will be somewhere else.
So here is how to do it with the CCC
In the advanced view mode, goto "display options", on the last drop down, select "List all possible modes (including panning modes)". Then goto "display options", under desktop area you will now see higher resolutions that will run in a panned mode! -
Thanks Quester. Something really nice to do on a Sunday afternoon
