I recently purchased an old Latitude CS with the intention of restoring it as a fun project. Got everything working okay until this morning the machine wouldn’t boot with the optical drive connected. I get an error stating that the “device in the modular bay cannot be identified”. It boots fine if I disconnect the media bay cable. Does this mean I have a faulty CD drive?
