I made a DVD as a backup of the recovery partition on an Inspiron 9300. When I run recover.exe, I can see the *.gho file and I can select it. But for some reason, it says it's 76GB in size. I can't select individual partitions so I can't copy it to the second partition. I know it's not absolutely necessary to have it but the old hard drive was crashing.

If you could be a bit more clear on this we might be able to better assist you.

I wanted to make a backup of the DSR partition of an Inspiron 9300 on DVD. I followed the instructions from www.goodells.net/dellrestore/. I tried doing a test copy on the laptop with the recovery DVD. When I select the Ghost image from the DVD, it's only allowing me to copy the image to the entire disk rather than a partition.

It's weird because just a moment ago, it gave me the option to choose the partition.

I'm sorry. I think it was user error on my part.
