Have just had my laptop for a few days now and I am finding that whenever I close the lid and then reopen it, the laptop screen stays black and doesn't do anything upon pressing any button or the mouse buttons. It just dies and I have to hold the power button down to turn it off and then restart.

Any ideas why it's doing this and anyone else experiencing this problem?

I'll be nice, the default power setting is that it goes to sleep when you close the lid, you'll have to change the power scheme settings. I set mine to "do nothing" when lid is closed.

Mine resumes every time when I put it into sleep or Hibernate.

Yeah, I thought mine did resume automatically as well when I reopened the lid, I wasn't quite sure though as I immediately changed the power settings.

But why would you need to change it? Surely it should resume from sleep when you reopen the lid.

Having said that, I just reopened it for a second time after closing the lid and it resumed but changed the resolution.

    This is really annoying.

Any ideas on what it could be?

I just uninstalled Trend Micro anti-virus and now I have no problem to put my m1330 to sleep or hibernate. Also, as a bonus my wireless connection connect much faster after bootup. It seems that Trend Micro PC-illiian 14 is causing sleep problem and slow wirless connection during boot.
