    Hi,

I have got my Dell 1420 laptop with Vista in it . The System was very slow , so I spoke with the Customer Service whether I can get a Windows CD instead of Vista . They said that they will send me the Xp Pro CD and asked me to return the COA Label for Vista.

I was wondering , since the COA Label is attached with the laptop , how can I remove the label ?. Has any one faced the similar issue..

    thanks
    kc

The system is slow because Dell pre-installs a bunch of crapware on the system. A fresh install of Vista would fix that.

As far as the COA label goes, try to gently peel it off. Do it only after you install XP though and decide you want to keep it.

not quite the same, situation, but, my coa wore off from so much lap use >> really. I had recorded the key# so it was ok, but it happens alot. Plus dell probably installed vista w/ the dell oem bulk key, not the key on your coa. I'd record the "bulk" key and use something like voatk tools(see my sig) to get the bulk key # in case you decide to go back to vista. It also gives you a wealth of Vista information about your system.

also, check out >>> THIS THREAD
I'd use Orev's ABR tool to get your current key and Vista certificate and that way you can go back to Vista anytime you choose >> w/out having to activate!!!!!
