Is Dell still doing the stackable $100 coupon or 40% off? Or are they going to?

Also in returns it says "You may return your new or refurbished system up to 21 days from the date of invoice.". What does that mean? What is the date of invoice?

Also do you have untill the 21st day to ship it out, or do they have to recive it on the 21st day after the "invoice"?

Once it is built and tested and boxed...it gets the invoice. Then it is shipped. So you have 21-days usually from the day it is shipped usually -1 day.

Now there is a restocking fee if you return it, but you can talk them into waiving that fee. :p

    Ugh! Wtf... this is crazy.

Im not a smooth talker / typer so I doubt I would be able to get them to "waive" the restockig fee :\

This really sucks. I bought this notebook thinking I could return it within 21 days for whatever reason.

Just call them and tell them you have been having some problems. Then tell them you want to return it...and either get a new one of the same model and config...or you want a different model with the same specs.

Just tell them you want to get another laptop.

Or tell them you want a refund :)

"Restocking Fees: Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Dell error, a restocking fee of 15% may be charged on hardware, accessories, peripherals, parts and unopened software still in its/their sealed package, and on software that has not been downloaded if the software is delivered electronically."

So does that only apply for exchanges?

Maybe charged! Well what is the reason you want to return/exchange it?

If it is for one of those reasons, just tell them that is reasons. :p

I think Dell has a great Rep. Granted their customer support needs some help, but you get some of the best bang for your buck from Dell. That is because they are one of the biggest sellers of PC's. :p

Well it says unless the product is defective... which IMO mine is... but they might not think so because all of these things are so common.

Like probably the only real defective thing is how the drive skips with songs. All the other things like the loose hinge / hinge cover / keyboard, and light leakage they might consider normal.

Tell them that...due to the problems that you are having you would like your computer replaced under warranty and that will be that. Most likely they will take your request, since I think you are still within 21 days of receipt they should replace it for almost any problems (are you within your 21-days?). That is just my perspective.

When dealing with customer service, don't take no for an answer, if they can't do it for you, speak to a manager. :p

So there is no way I can just get a refund? :|

I would not be surprized if the replacement notebook had all these problems + more.

Well since it is "defective" in your mind, then I think if you want a refund. Then you should get it. Just tell them that is what you want to do. They are going to throw discounts at you left and right...so you might reconsider! :p At least that is what they did for some friends of mine. So they decided to re-order.

So at least hear them out! :p

Call them and tell them you shouldn't have any problems with this for the first couple of the weeks and you want a refund. They are obligated to give it to you. :)

You better act soon. Their 21 day policy starts from when they shipped from Dell not from when you received it.
