I bought a m1330 off of ebay. It was advertised as a LED but is actually a CCFL. I picked it up locally so I have the phone and address of the guy. He says Dell screwed up the order and all they will let him do is either keep it or return it (load of crock in my mind, I think he is trying to screw people).

All that to say. It was $1799 with a full 3 year warranty, complete care, 1 GB ram, 120 GB hard drive, 2.0 processor, no finger print reader, a 9 cell battery, the Nvidia card, N wireless card, bluetooth. It has a good build. Only thing really wrong is the screen.

They guy won't give a further discount.

I currently have a m1330 on order. 2.2 processor, 1 GB ram, 120 hard drive, finger printer reader, 2 9 cell batteries, extra Air/Auto power supply, 3 year warranty with complete care, bluetooth, N wireless card, Nvidia graphics card, lojack and the timbuk2 bag. It is $550 more and current ship date is Sept 5.

Should I just keep it or should I wait for mine and pay the extra?

Potentially the screen is $150 more, the extra battery $90, the finger print reader $30 more, the lojack ($50) , the bag (I don't think I would keep it) $150. So total difference is only a couple of dollars. But that assumes full price for the bag.

Well, you can report the guy for selling an item with a false description. If you paid with PayPal the guy does not have a leg to stand on whatsoever as you can get some (or all) of your money back.

Did the guy advertise it as a LED because that problem is between you and he. You have no recourse with dell because it is a 3rd party sale.

The only way you would have recourse is if you checked the configuration by the service tag at Dell and it says LED not CCFL.

As far as he goes....be ready for it. He cannot sell it as a new machine now so his only recourse is to return it to dell which HE CANT NOW DO. This is because the warranty has been transferred to you.

This would mean the system is yours; he wont take it back...

The transfer hasn't gone through yet. So he will take it back and give me a full refund. Which is what he should do.

I did enjoy playing with it. But I guess I will send it back tomorrow. And wait for three or four weeks for mine.
