I'm thinking of purchasing a M1330, but had some questions about warranty options. Currently I have a 710m with Complete Care. The only things I've used my warranty for is replacing the keyboard 4 times so far. After seeing the on-site technician do it the first time, I just have them ship me the part and I do it myself. The right speaker is no longer functioning, so I will get that fixed soon.

Right now my 3 options are as follows:
    1 Year Return to Depot
    3 Year Next Business Day
3 Year Next Business Day with Complete Care

And the price differences after EPP and taxes:
    1 Year
    ---$139
    3 Year
    ---$149
    3 YrCC

So the questions I have are:
    1) If I choose the 1 Year Return to Depot, for something like replacing the keyboard, would I have to return it to them for it to be fixed or can I do as I do now and just request the part me shipped to me?

    2) What are the significant differences between 3 Year without Complete Care and 3 Year with Complete Care? Is physical damage just ruled out completely without Complete Care?

    3) Seeing how I will be using my notebook at home and it will rarely be transported around, would $288 for Complete Care be worthwhile? Let's say I somehow drop it and dent or crack the casing, but it causes something internal to mess up, would they deny warranty on that unless I had Complete Care?

Basically, I don't believe the risk of a drink being spilled all over it or it rolling down the stairs in pieces is high. My main source of damage would probably be tripping over the power cord and having it fall a distance of 2 feet onto a carpeted floor. So if something happens, it'd be in one piece with a dent or a crack.

P.S. This would be through Dell Canada and in Canadian Dollars.

Complete care covers accidents. A warranty would only cover parts dying. If you drop it and something breaks it won't be covered.
