Anyone have any trouble returning dell products? I bought an xpsm1210 with the verizon broadband card built in. In order to use the broadband card, you need to order the av communications package. I have logged countless technical support hours with Dell and Verizon... and none of them can get the card to work. I've had the computer about a week, and I want to return it. I don't want to pay for something that doesn't work, and I don't have time to sit on the phone for hours with these people to make it work... What do you think my chances are of returning this product and getting a full refund OR having them remove the broadband card and the AV package and taking that off my bill? It's sunday so I can't call them. I also feel like I have no recourse against them because I used their credit, rather than using my credit card.

    thank you,

    Joe

It shouldn't be hard. I believe you have to talk to Dell's Techinical support (which is open right now), and tell them that you want to return your laptop. You shouldn't have to pay restock fee and shipping fee since something is wrong with it. You should have a shipping label located on your packing slip or in the box that your laptop came in, and you can just use that to ship it back.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought i heard that it takes up to a month to get a refund - again, not sure.

Since you've talked with the tech support and have those case numbers just chat with the order support and give them the case number and tell them you want to return it. If they tell you that you have to pay a restocking fee just argue that it's not your fault that it doesn't work. They usually won't have a problem with it. Since you got it new you aren't going to have a return label, but talk to them about shipping it back and see if they'll flip the bill since it was defective. At worse the most you should have to pay is the return shipping, you should get refunded for everything else. The chances of them just refunding you for the card are very slim to none. They generally don't issue refunds, but possibly a concession.
