Is it normal for Dell to not cover shipping back to them within the first 21 days if you feel a component is not satisfactory?
I keep telling them about the light leakage and terrible viewing angles on my WXGA+ lcd and they pretty much act like that's just to be expected since I didn't pay for the upgrade. I can see that paying extra should get you something more but I don't feel like I should have to deal with a monitor I can't see half the time. I made up my mind to return it and repurchase with the WUXGA, and I'm definitely fine with paying for the upgrade, but I was suprised they weren't willing to help with shipping considering how many calls I've made just in the past week. They did offer me a discount on my current purchase and a gift card, and I could definitely use the money, but I'd rather have a laptop I'm happy 100% happy with instead of just mostly.

Dell should cover shipping. They usually do.

In dell return's policy, it states that the consumer is responsible for shipping + restocking fees (15% of total cost). As to whether it is normal or not, I'm not really sure. I know some users got out of it, and some haven't. I think it really depends on who you are talking to.

I guess I saw so many people talking about all the freebies they've gotten that I sort of expected it. Shouldn't have set my sights so high I guess, but it's not like I'm trying to pull one over on anyone.
I should have listened to everyone about the WUXGA in the first place -
I returned my xps m140 and had to pay for shipping..or at lesat so I was told. After I had mailed the computer back, at my own expense, the UPS man showed up at my door waiting for the package.
