When returning a computer back to the manufacturer, ie Dell, what preparations do you typically do? Do you do a Quick format, Reformat the HD or just send it in as is? I would hate having someone see all of my information and documents if they bought it refurbished. Soon to be on the Dell Refurbished list:
2Ghz, 1 GB 677 mhz RAM, 100 GB 7200 RPM HD, Intel GMA 950 and DVD burner - keep your eyes peeled.
I am expecting my new Dell to come at the end of the month.
Same as above but with Nvidia card.

I would just send in as is since they will do a format before selling it as a refurb. I would not leave my personal files as you can never be to sure. No need to format.

Been there, done that. Just delete ur files and crack programs if u have any on ur computer or programs u didnt really pay for. pack it up like how it came and thats it. they will issue a creditcard refund once they get the thing.

oh yes, u pay for shipping, they dont refund that. but if there is any rebates for the thing, u get to keep =)

Thanks everyone. They are paying for return shipping in my case; however.
