I was wondering as it's not super clear on the Dell site: Can you return a product if your within your 21 days and not be charged a restocking fee? Will Dell send you a shipping label to return the product or do you pay?

With HP if you were in your 21 days they would issue you a full refund and all you had to do was ship the laptop back and they sent you a label.

I'm referring to Notebooks on here.

Unfortunately with Dell unless there is something wrong, they may, charge you a restocking fee of up to 15%. To most they don't.

If there is something legitamately wrong such as os not loaded properly, wrong specs, or so forth. There is no restocking fee and they will send you a label to ship the computer back at their expense.

The only exception to this rule is the Dell Vostro line. Those come with a 30 day money back guarantee where there is no restocking fee or paying shipping back.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks, I have my eyes on the Studio 15 & Studio XPS line and was just wondering, what if I just don't' like it? Nothing wrong with it just doesn't please me for some reason would I have to pay the restocking fee then?

Unfortunately since everything is working you will most likely have to pay a restocking fee unless you get a sympathetic representative.

Since you live in the US, you could go by a BestBuy and see the lines there since they carry the Studio 15 and the Studio XPS line.

Yeah I know, I would just like to try them out and see how they are but Best Buys also charges a 15% restocking fee. They probably do it because of people like me lol. I would just love to try something out before I buy for good ya know?

If you are worrying about returning it before you even buy it, it probably already has too many compromises that you are making ;). I've been looking for just the right thing for over a month now, and have resigned myself to the fact that I need to wait until Windows 7 when the new stuff comes out. There should then be bargains galore, too.
