Some of you may have known that my first vostro died unexpectedly and recently got a new Vostro back from them (like..Wednesday) but this new Vostro keeps making weird clicking sounds when it does anything, and is generally very hot, so i'm not very pleased with the brand (I accept that it's just my bad luck). So, now I'm $800 richer and have no clue what to do. I'm out a laptop and I need one before I go back to school in a week :(

Uh... maybe fill out the FAQ and post back in the "What should I buy?" forum.

If you have been disappointed so much w/ the vostro try a different laptop. The latitude models are supposed to be good, as well as the T and R series of Thinkpads. About getting your laptop in time... I don't know what to tell you. It seems like your only option for that is to go to a B&M and buy a prebuilt system. :\
