I have just recently recieved my m1330 and there seems to be a few issues with it.![]()
If I return the notebook back to dell, do i have to pay for the shipping expenses? Also, if I were to get a replacement notebook, will it be refurbished or new? What do I need to do, or how do i get/ask for a replacement?
Also provide some tips regarding replacements/returns. Thanks.

Are you within the 21 day return time period?
If so you have Dell's 100% satisfaction policy to back you up.Call ,and tell them you want a replacement, don't let them convince you to have a tech come out, stand firm and they will do it.
Meanwhile you can use your existing M1330,when the new machine arrives there will be a prepaid invoice for DHL,just schedule a pickup and box it up.If you are within this timeframe they will send you a newly built laptop, not a refurb. -
What are your issues?

A replacement within the first 21 days is a new computer. You won't have to pay for shipping expenses if there are defects in the product.

call the dell number and ask for who? and yes i am within the 21 days timeframe
also what about the data I have on the current computer, do i need to erase it, and how would i do it? -
My XPS M1330 is being replaced due to an error in the hardware config. It is a new machine and I was told it is not charged again as it is a "replacement" system which in Dell speak is different than a new system even though the replacement is new and not refurbished.

You can boot up the computer and press F8. Repair the computer, and then select restore to factory image. They reformat the computer anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. Contact Customer Care and they will help you.

any1 knows how long it will take for a replacement to come, and when a replacement comes - does a new period of 21 days start again if there are problems with the new replacement notebook as well?
