    AC Adapter 19.5V 3.34A
    pa-21 family

    which watt right for this adapter is it 90 watt or 65 watt
    because there is 2 different adapters for this notebook

    If you had the ATi graphics, you will need the 90 watt AC adapter. If you had Intel graphics, you'll be fine with the 65 watt AC adapter.

    Both should work, I have goten both from dell when my adapter failed.

    If you have discreet graphics, Dell will give you a 90 watt or higher rated adapter. Typically you'll get really bad throttling if you use a lower rated adapter. I can tell you my Vostro 1500's 8600M GT gets horrible throttled when unplugged or runs on a 65 watt adapter.

    I have been sent both charges when one has failed, I can see problems like you said if you use a lower power one. That seems a real luxury running on battery power my battery can no longer hold charge need to get a new one to be honest.
