Simple as the title states. How can I play ripped DVD's or DVD files copied to my computer from my DVD camcorder in Dell Media Direct? It just doesn't work. I fixed the playback in media center but I would like to be able to do it in Media Direct as well in case I'm on a long trip and want to conserve some battery life or something. And just because it's a pain in the a$$ to have all my folders show up under Media Direct-Videos but have them look as empty.

Anyone who can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Plus rep if you have a procedure to do it.

.vob file types are not recognized in Media Direct. If you want movies to play, stick with mpeg.

the simplest thing is just to rename the extension from vob to mpeg for each file you want to watch/view in media direct- that way, you don't have to convert them or have another program.........

that's the only thing I can think of, but it's been a long day..........
