Ruby Red 1520 Shipped!!

Hi all! I just thought I'd let everybody know that my 1520 has shipped.
Here are the specs:
Ruby Red finish
T7500 C2D Proccessor
Nvidia GeForce 8600m GT
Anti-Glare Display (1280x800)
Integrated Webcam
2GB DDR2 RAM
160GB 5400rpm HDD

I live in Canada so I ordered from Dell.ca on August 1st. It went into production on the 2nd, and I just let my status rest for awhile until about a week ago when I called and was told my laptop may not begin production again until the end of the month due to the backordered lids. BUT seeing as today (the 16th) was my tentative ship date, I decided to call and to my great suprise, I was told that my laptop had shipped yesterday and was currently in circulation in the states and should arrive mid next week!
I wish everybody luck on getting their beasts and I know we will all be very happy when all is said and done.

Update! To my even greater suprise, I woke up this morning to the doorbell, and there was the Purolator guy saying he had a package from Dell! I was so happy. I really do feel bad for the people who are having such terrible experiences with Dell but I guess my success story is some hope that Dell CAN be good! I'm typing on my new 1520 now and I must say to everybody who is thinking of cancelling, DON'T DO IT! It is definitly worth waiting it out, I absolutely love my new lappy.

I too ordered on August 1st. My laptop shipped on Aug 16 just after midnight. I am tracking my order through the Purolator website and I believe it arrived in Toronto about two hours ago. On my order status page, it says my estimated delivery date is Aug 20, but it's been like that since I ordered the laptop. How did you get yours so soon? Do you live near Toronto? I live in Montreal. How late can Purolator come to your door? I really wouldn't mind if it came at 11 PM tonight! Do they come on the weekends? If not, I will probably be getting it Monday.

 

ATR90, I live in Kingston,Ontario which is about half-way between Ottawa and Toronto. I'm still shocked though how it got here so fast, and quite frankly I don't care why! All I know is that it did and I'm very happy about it. I think that Purolator does not do deliveries on weekends unless you requested that when you ship something. They deliver typically between 9 and 5 but can come earlier or later. I recieved mine at about 11:30am. I don't see any reason why yours wouldn't arrive on Monday.

I am quite aware of the location of Kingston!

I called Purolator this morning. They told me it will arrive between 9-12 AM on Monday. Which is great for me.
