bought from outlet for about $1120+tax
    latitude D620
80 gig 7200 RPM hard drive
    Intel Core Duo 2400
    2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 677MHz (2 DIMMs)
    1490 Wireless Card (A/B/G)
    DVD/RW
256MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M TurboCache

I figured this should easily allow me to run Vista without additional upgrades, was I correct in believeing that?

Looks good to me... we'll see if Vista is worth it, though ;P

Also, by the time Vista is worth running, you might want to upgrade to a Merom.

Heh vista is only worth it when 64 bit program starts to be more popular, which will be a few years from now...not to mention you need a 64 bit supported processor (core 1 is 32)to support it.
But to answer the question yeah you system should run Vista smoothly.

Vista will have a 32bit version so you'll be fine, and vista should be worth the money even before 64bit programs become popular. Think better security and a more mac-like OS.

Vista is 32 and 64-bit compatable, I dont think you have to get a different version if you have a 32-bit processor, it just runs the one that your processor supports.
