My girlfriends SD card slot recently stopped working on her inspiron 6000. I have no Idea what could be the matter with it. When a card is inserted, it makes a beep like windows is trying to read it, but then nothing else happens. Me and my g/f were both using our laptops. She wanted me to check out some pics, so she ejected her SD card, and passed it over. After I was done with it, I ejected it and passed it back to her. Then it just wouldn't work. Wouldn't even make a beep. I tried a couple different SD cards, and none worked. A couple days later, we tried again, and this time windows made a noise like its trying to read it, but then nothing else happens. Thanks for reading. I hope someone can help.

Sounds like it is broke. Ask dell to fix it if you are still under warranty

Thats what I was thinking, just wondering if maybe there was a simple fix before I have to send it in.
