Has anyone received a grainy screen recently with the newer model SEC3350?

Is it true Dell no longer offers LG as a replacement?

Mine looks perfect. There is no grainyness to it. They dont offer the 1680x1050 resolution anymore however.

Yeah, they don't, they probably still have some LGs, but most of the displays are most likely Samsung. You might get a grainy or a non-grainy. Really depends on your luck. Though trends show most Samsungs have problems with graininess.

My SEC3350 is great. And trust me, I was spoiling for a fight when I realized a Samsung was on the way. But it's all good.

But I don't know that there's anything new about this SEC3350 compared to earlier SEC3350's. Yeah, Dell changed their own part number for it but it's still an SEC3350. I'm almost inclined to think Dell changed the part number because RW985 had become infamous on these forums, not because there was anything different about the SEC3350 itself.

Could also be for Dell to differentiate between the poor quality SEC3350 and the current good quality SEC3350. I had the pleasure of dealing with the old RW985 and it was ugly. The viewing angles were very bad and the screen was dim. You do not seem to have any of those problems so Samsung must have corrected the issues.
