    SM BUS Controller yellow question mark

    Just wiped my M1530 and installed win xp on it every seems to have gone fine but i have a yellow question mark besides SM BUS Controller?

    I installed what i thought was the driver IEEE Bus R166188.


    Can anyone help me out please.

    SMBus is part of your chipset. Do you have an Intel, nVIDIA or AMD(ATI) chipset? I know on my nVIDIA chipset installing the nForce chipset drivers installs the SMBus driver. Get the chipset drivers for your chipset. I installed the desktop ones for my laptop's GO 6150/MCP 430 (nForce4 based) chipset when I had XP on it and it has the SMBus driver included.

    The GM965 is the one you want - they dont offer a link for the PM695 for some reason (GM is the same as PM but supports the intergrated Intel Graphics too).

    The file you are after is infinst_autol.exe
