I ordered my xps m1530 on june 30th, it has shipped and will be delivered tomorrow. This is very expedient in my opinion, but after reading many threads I'm expecting the worst. However, perhaps the bad is less than the good, who here got a flawless laptop upon first delivery?![]()
-
I expected a near perfect laptop and that is what I recieved! My only problem (very minor) is that the harddrive is a bit louder than my old laptop.
-
I got one
No Faults Yet ;D
-
Me...from the outlet...Wunderbar!
-
so far so good for me.
-
I must be honest, I've refrained from reading this place too much, not because I don't enjoy it, but because the last thing I want to read while waiting for my m1330 to arrive is all these horror stories! Just makes me even more nervous.
-
I've received plenty of inspirons and precisions that have absolutely no issues. Their consumer laptops....not so much.
-
Mine arrived in Jan. No problems at all.
-
Received my 1530 in January..has been *awesome* thus far....
knock on.... -
Hey, you know my case and the result of it. I wouldn't be too worried.
-
I got a Vostro 1700 and Inspiron 1501 both in new perfect condition. OTOH I purchased a Vostro 1500 that had to be replaced for problems. The new replacement isn't perfect either but I would be nit picky to send it back.
-
Oh I'm sure you are!
Woot!!!
-
I'm on my 4th Dell notebook, and never had a problem with any of them.
-
Mines perfect
-
I ordered my 1520 referb back in October. Ran fine until sunday. I woke up to a grinding hard drive. Called Dell and I am now sporting a fully functional hard drive.
-
I got the 710 and the xps 15230 and they were both perfect
-
I have never gotten a bad one.
-
Not a single probem/complaint so far (5 Months+)
-
Hello everyone!
Mine's goin' on its second month... Well, so far so good, nothing major I should say so... *| Knock on wood|* -
Received mine 2 weeks ago. No complaints so far. I'm a happy camper.
-
Two Inspiron 1521 laptops ordered in November 07; zero problems
-
My burner wouldn't burn... didn't have to send it in though, replaced it at home.
-
-
since March of 2007 have purchased 2 Inspiron 1505 and last month an Inspiron 1525, and all 3 have been fine with no issues. Only problem last year with one, the rep inadvertantly cancelled the order and had to re-submit it.
-
Ordered mine on april 22d, got it around may 5th...perfect condition. After reading practically every single thread here I was expecting a grainy screen, humpback keyboard, uneven gaps and whatnot, lol. Got a perfect lg screen, flat keyboard, I can't fault it in any way.
-
Its the best I ever had. No regrets. *nods*
Just got a copy of Call of Duty 4 today. Can't wait to test it. -
I had to get a problem fixed, and they repaired it for me. My battery wasn't charging even on the first boot. No other problems/replacement needed.
-
I got a perfect machine from the Outlet
The problem with forums is, the majority of people come here to look for a solution to a problem they are having etc Nobody joins a forum to say "Hi, I just got a laptop, it works fine k?"
So scanning through the forum gives the impression thats its the worst product ever released and you have a 90% chance of getting a broken one... When in fact, the overwhelming majority got a laptop that is perfect or almost perfect -
Actually your wrong in that aspect. A lot of people have gotten keyboard bumped out upon arrival. A lot of people have Optiarc drives. Most people probably dont even care. Not everyone is a techie and does a full check on hardware and software to make sure it seems right. Some people may not even know that Optiarc drives are loud and that they or the norm. Some people may think the keyboard being bumped out of the center is ergonomic...

I've had mine for 17 days with absolutely no issues.
-
I've had three Latitude's from work, and a personal Insprion 1520 since Novermber and no problems with any of them.
-
my laptop was flawless upon delivery, still nothing wrong with it, though i had to reinstall XP after installing the Service pack 3 ( which has compatitibility issues i'm told by Dell Tech's).
took me a week to discover the little padded thing they sent me was a microfibre cloth though. -
*raises hand*
Well, it DID come with Vista Basic....... which I replaced with Vista Ultimate. -
My Vostro has been flawless. The only complaint I have is that I didn't hold out for a XPS.
-
I have. A little over 8 months now.
-
Been about 4-5 months of heavy duty work and not a single issue ::knocks on wood::. Dell rig in sig.
-
I have not had a problem so far that involved me sending it back, just a defective battery.
-
The users of this forum are about .001% of the XPS customer base, You cannot make a generalization based on .001%
What you are doing is essentially the same as going into a Hospital / Doctor's office and saying "OMG! Everybody here is sick! The whole world must be sick! aaggggh"
mkay? -
I have my xps for about 10 days now nothing wrong with it i got a LG screen which helps... only thing i did was a fresh Vista instal right after i got it. I have to admit i dont use it alot though i have a desktop which i find easier to work with and game with when iam at home. Think i used it for about 6-8 hours now
-
I received my Vostro back in January and the only issue was the spastic touchpad which turned out to be a bad AC power adapter. So technically there was nothing wrong with the laptop itself. Luckily (knock on wood) no returns from me.
-
Just ordered a Inspiron 1720 today. I am a little nervous but you have to remember most people only say something when there is something wrong. There is a higher perecentage of people with a good laptop, they just don't post on forums about it since they are enjoying their new laptop.
-
Your going to find people complaining about all brands and models, and for most cases they are a small percentage of actual users. So yeah you will never find the perfect notebook that nobody complains about.
-
Besides the Optiarc DVDRW drive, which is only noisy during insert/eject, and occasional HDD clicks... like a couple times/week max, I did a clean install and with my WSXGA+ LG 1680 x 1050 display on the first time, I haven't had it serviced or anthing, and I love it.
-
I love my m1330, no problems at all.
-
CD/DVD drive is a little loud when putting disk in. -
My Bluetooth radio was dead from the factory... Other than that, perfect otherwise.
-
mine was near perfect, it had a small hump in the keyboard, i removed it and laid the cables flat, was very easy and painless to do, besides that its absolutely perfect.
-
Reading the treads didn't really prepare me for the worse. Ordered mine on May 9th, received it on June 2nd, and returned it today - hopefully I get my money back sooooooon. My M1530, has, by far, the wost build quality of several notebooks (Sony SZ and S Type and two Fujitsu notebooks, all of them are still working in case some would like to know) I've owned over the years. Not only does it have a lump (or maybe I should call it a tumor) in the middle of the keyborad, it also didn't sit flat on a flat surface - bottom left corner of the laptop is lifted off ground. WTF. Took them a month to build this kind of crappy laptop. It was also the loudest laptop I've had, with harddriver ticking all the time and DVD driver inserting and ejecting disc like it was gobbling it up. To make the matter worse, took me two days to get the refund process going, dealing with a bunch of clueless customer care. I heard so many postive things about Dell's customer care servce on this forum, and so far I have yet experienced any...
-
my sister got a vostro 1500 that has been flawless perfect screen and all.. sucks since i went through 5 machines with something wrong with each of them, i just dont have that luck
-
I bought my 1520 in last october and I have to say its nearly flawless, with only a few minor problems most of which developed only with use:
1. Has some discoloring on the palmrest which I suppose is normal wear, so its not an issue
2. Makes some noise if run from battery. As it developed gradually it seems that maybe some dirt inside could cause this. It also developed on my earlier Latitude which after 3 years makes it all the time.
SO who here has gotten a nearly flawless, perfect laptop from dell without having to send it back once??
