    I just bought an

    INSPIRON 9400 (dell.com.au)

at the bottopm of the quote it says

    "Integrated Stereo Sound with Subwoofer"

    .

i am not that happy with the sound and the subwoofer seems pretty crapppy as well.

what id like to know is

    .

i am now going to buy the
    XPS M1710.

the m1710 says that the sound card is

"Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio [+AUD 18.70] "

"Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio Software "

what id like to know is - i have heard many people say that in laptops
that sound cards are no different in effecting the "sound"

and no different in options in your sound settings on properities...

can people here please help me out

will i benefit in any way at all becausde the m1710 has the better sound???

sorry to be so padantic (wrong spelling?)

but if someone put the 2 laptops side by side and played the same song,

could the person who has the m1710 actually make the actual sound - sound more "better" simply cause of the enhancements fetaures such as echo etc?

(by default i mean - ifd u juyst use what the laptops come wiwth )

here is the news thread for this Express Card Sound Card

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=112643

On my previous laptop I had the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook PCMCIA SoundCard and it was great. The music did sound much richer with the Audigy SoundCard when external speakers were connected. Also the laptop had much lower CPU utilization when the PCMCIA Soundcard was used.

So far there have been no real reviews out on the X-FI Notebook Express SoundCard. Officially it has been released in Japan and the cost is around USD $108. I also saw it on Amazon.com here in the US for around USD $74. However, it does not come with the speaker dock connector.
