I got my Vostro 1400 without the BT module originally since I have a Belkin USB dongle already. I used that dongle in Vista with third party driver for a couple months and then bought a refurbished Dell Truemobile BT 355 for $11 with free shipping around Christmas. Perhaps because of the 3rd party driver for the Belkin dongle installed, I had trouble in installing the driver for 355. It only showed as an unknown device and did not accept any driver even it detects the device properly. When I am running XP Pro on the same laptop, the 355 works great though.
After I tried every way suggested on the web and still could not get it to work, I downloaded the Vista SP1 and updated the Vista last night. This morning, I found the BT 355 went through the driver installation successfully and now I get the BT 355 working in Vista finally. :D
