    I'm hearing reports that UK XPS m1730 are arriving without an illuminated keyboard????

    Anyone else hear this..????

    To be fair, if a thread falls straight off of the first page it's not likely to get one.

    With regard the question, Dell's marketing makes a big thing of the feature, so should a notebook ship without it (which I would doubt) you are well within your right to demand a replacement.

    My keyboard illumination went dead after a tech had been out to install my missing ageia card. It had a loose connection as it would intermittently turn back on from time to time. Dell replaced the keyboard however is all was good for the last two weeks before I returned the laptop.
