Hi guys,
I'm considering buying a Dell and installing my own SSD drive. However, I'm unsure what the best configuration is.
I want to install the OS and my most used games and applications on the SSD.
However, should I also put my work and media (photos and music etc.) on the SSD? Or is it okay to put the latter on Dell's preinstalled 7200rpm drive?
Of course I want the most benefit from the SSD, but given it's 60GB capacity, I'm trying to figure out the best way of apportioning my data.
I've been searching on the net, but so far I can't find any really helpful advice on this.
Kind regards,
Jonty
P.S. I can't afford a 120GB SSD, so I'll have to stick to the small capacity ones.

You should definitely put the operating system on there.
I guess for music and pictures, you should use another hardrive. -
I'm not an expert, but along with the OS, I'd imagine that you should put whatever programs and files that you will be using the most.

Anything that you really want to start up fast, e.g. Windows itself, large programs, games, Photoshop, iTunes, whatever - install to the SSD. Anything for which speed is not a primary concern, i.e. music, photos, documents, put on the 7200RPM platter hard drive to save precious SSD space without really losing any performance.
