    Those mini-PCIe drives are actually pinned out different from the regular mini PCIe slots in the Inspiron laptops (the slots for WiFi, Bluetooth, etc). A "normal" SSD will work just fine, as they are 2.5" SATA drives just like your mechanical hard drives.

    I have and SSD drive but swapped it out for a much larger 7200 RPM HDD 80GB was too small despite battery and heat savings.

    I was looking at these Mini PCI SSD drives but

    #1. they are way small in GB/price
    #2. they are I think slower than 2.5" SSD's read/write times
    #3. all of the industry is moving towards 2.5" SSD drives more and more.
