So I just finished a chat with a Dell rep and she told me my motherboard is not compatible with SATA I,II, or III SSD drives. My question to all of you, is this true? Seems kinda fishy to me, she did tell me that my motherboard is a N35X3, nothing more though. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Dell rep doesn't know what she's talking about; the 5520 takes standard 2.5" drives, and you can use SATA I, II, or III.

Thats what I thought... Any suggestions for a SSD drive? I am looking at getting at least a 240gb SATA III, any brands to look for or steer clear of?

A follow up question .. does anyone know if the 15R 5520 have an mSATA slot? I can't find the answer in the specs.

Generally I just say avoid OCZ/SandForce for the SSD, but with the new management, OCZ might just yet clean up their act. Samsung is the safest bet, imo. The service manual doesn't say anything about an mSATA slot, so I'm not sure about that one.
