Hey all, haven't been around here much since I got my 14z (very happy with it!) but with the release of Windows 7 retail coming up, I'm back to ask about hard drive replacement.

I'd like to buy an SSD and install Windows 7 on it, starting fresh with both upgrades simultaneously. How reasonable is it to open up the S14z and replace the drive? Where might I get instructions?

Also, if you know anything about this sort of thing, which SSD would you recommend? It's just a standard 2.5" for the 14z, right? I'd say 32GB is my minimum.

The 14z takes standard 2.5" SATA hard drives. I'd get an X25-M G2... if you can afford it. Then a G1, if you can't get the G2. Else, anything with an Indilinx or Samsung controller is a viable alternative.
