I have an Inspiron 15 7537 laptop that is 2 days old.

I have a yellow flag on the accelerometer in device manager. This shows code 10 which shows status device power failure. This happened this afternoon.

I have installed the latest driver.

Can someone tell me what the accelerometer does and how I might fix the problem?

    Thanks

    Herman

The accelerometer (usually) is supposed to prevent damage to conventional HDDs in the advent that you drop the laptop. If the error happened suddenly without you doing anything (ie Windows Update) it could be a hardware failure. Since the laptop is only a couple days, you should be under warranty, and you should call Dell and have them take care of it.
