DELL STUDIO 1555 5 BEEPS NOT BOOTING - YouTube
Hi all, as of yesterday my dell studio 1555 would not boot.
It would instantly start beeping 5 times in a continuous loop. Each beep contains three notes, 2 low and one high. Eg beep, beep,BEEP (if that makes any sense!) now I have read the beep code list from dell and it says that it's a CMOS issue. So I have replaced the battery but still no luck. If you could watch the video and help at all it would be much appreciated,

    Cheers,

    Rory

    Hi Rory,

I suggest you to release the static power from the laptop and check if it boots properly. Please follow the steps provided below:
    1. Shutdown the computer.
    2. Remove the Battery and the AC Adapter.
    3. Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds and release it.
    4. Reconnect the Battery and the AC Adapter.
    5. Power on the system.

You will need to replace the motherboard if the issue persists.

and the answer might be RTC power failure.....which in other words, just might be change the COIN BATTERY on the motherboard

start with that (if it not helps....you probably should buy a new motherboard....... .THOUGH....a "new"/refurbish motherboard to 1555 cost some Dollars so you might consider buying a "new" laptop
