Same configuration, same e-value code, but the price went up: what gives?

I configured a Studio 17 using an e-value code from the January catalog a few days ago, the price came out to $1214.

Today, using the same e-value code, I configured an identical system, and the price went up by $125.

It looks like maybe they've added a low-end processor to the configuration options, and bumped the processor I picked from a $0 to $125 upgrade. I don't know for sure, I don't remember what the options were before.

Why would they do this, is it possible they were out of stock of the C2D T6400 before, but are now replenished, so they've added it as an option to this configuration and increased the C2D P8400 price? This positions the price point for Studio XPS 16 dangerously close to a similarly configured but much less impressive Studio 17, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Studio XPS 16 is superior to the Studio 17, you will pay more for one.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Who pays attention to math anyway?
