I had a Samsung 1440x900 screen on my Inspiron 1420 that was fairly decent. However, some of the colors seemed somewhat flushed and pale.

SEC3255. Have had it for about half a year now. Not the greatest screen ever, but I have no real qualms.

I doubt you'll get many responses here. People happy with their samsungs probably are not reading these forums and those that were happy and reading these forums are probably not happy anymore :(

Anyway, mine isn't too bad. Compared to other LCDs it was horrible, but if I just had that screen and never ever saw any other screen I would think it was fine. The viewing angle is pretty bad, but the grain wasn't too bad. I kind of started liking the screen looking like it had a paper texture to it.

I have opened a return ticket, but still thinking on if I'm going to return it...

I'm still happy with mine (WSXGA+ received 12/31) and I have four other notebooks in my house to compare it to. Also, I have seen a notebook with a horrible screen... a 1520 that I returned to dell the day after I got it last July.

It's a little hard to read all the threads on screens and finding out that I'm a sucker for getting/keeping a samsuck screen though. I really hope that everyone who has a bad screen gets it replaced with a good one, but I think the people who are calling dell to get their service tag and cancelling their order before they even see it is getting a little ridiculous.

The screen issue was going on back in December when I ordered mine and I decided when I got it I was just going to use it for a few days and decide if I liked the screen before I checked who the manufacturer was. When I did find out it was the dreaded Samsung I was really surprised. Tami

Mine is acceptable. It's a higher resolution screen and can't see the pixels due to the reflective coating. The pictures and videos are great but letterings are sometimes not as sharp on some web sites.

My samsung is "okay". The first one I had was terrible though, so I know some samsungs are definitely better than others.

The screen was only one of a couple reasons for asking for a third replacement, where as in the first case, the screen was the ONLY reason. It was pathetic.

I too have the infamous SEC3350. Only complaint is the viewing angles aren't the greatest

I have a Samsung 1440x900 display on my 1520. The colors are rich and brilliant, I'm happy with it except for the viewing angles.

I have a SAM0125. I'm guessing that's Samsung? When I got it, I thought it was fairly good, until I actually compared it to a real LCD monitor (which shouldn't be compared anyways). But I'm fairly satisfied wit it.

edit: Actually, how do I check which monitor I have? Device Manager right? Hardware ID?

    sec3258

its my first laptop so i can't compare it to any others apart from my LG crt monitor which doesnt really compare as one is crt and the other is lcd..
the screen seems rather good, was pale at first but just went into nvidia settings and reduced gamma, angle isnt that brilliant but i can just turn the laptop around... would love to compare it to the famous lg screens but very doubtful it'll happen...

    9/10 :)

I have a SEC3157 WXGA screen, it's alright to me. I don't see the grain others have pointed out.

Well... I will report 1st hand once I get mine. I also have never had a lappy so there is no other comparison other than getting caught up in the """Samsung=bad""" hysteria. I still believe that all brands have issues at times...yes even LG...as far as Dell discontinuing...not sure as I ordered 1/24 and my ticket says its the Samsung. I will try and keep an open mind...but also the kind of jack I put out for it will make me picky somewhat...and there it is...everyone's degree of perfection is different...cheers and fingers crossed!!!! and damn it's cold here...LOL!!! PS may have it in time for the Super Bowl!!!!!
