    Dear Friends,

Please let me know which of the following Dell screens available in India (no other choice)are Samsung and which are LG :

    XR878
    M809C
    XR860

Now which of these are grainy and which are not ?

Has Samsung fixed the grainy issue as I was told by a Dell US Chat Representative ?

Any help in this regard would be much appreciated as I have to decide the order in just 1 day .

I can still change my quotation although the payment will reach Dell tommorrow.

    Thanks .

You don't usually get to choose which display will be in your laptop... If you are able to choose go with the XR878 it hasnt gotten as many complaints i think.

The panel are different resolutions. 2 are Samsung and 1 is LG.

XR860 MODULE..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 15.4WSXGA+, SAMSUNG, M1530
M809C MODULE..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 15.4WXGA+, LGP, M1530
XR878 Module, Liquid Crystal Display 15.4 WXGA, Samsung, m1530

Use the Search funtion to find information in the future. That's what I just did.

    Hi Rhodan,

Im not interested in the XR878.So only 2 other choices M809C,XR860 are left.

Which one would you suggest ?

Ive been given quotation of XR860 .Is it grainy or not ?

Do the 1680x1040 and 1440x900 make too much of a difference ?

    Thanks.

Instead of asking questions that have been answered countless times try reading How do I fix my_m1530_Grainy Screen?.

Should take you 30 minutes tops and you will know just about everything there is to know about grainy screens on the M1530.

Maybe Samsung had a bad run of LCDs or something? I've always been under the impression that Samsung makes some of the nicest LCD monitors in the biz.

Hey guys, i think this may be a newer screen, from my service tag:

DW306 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 15.4WSXGA+, TLF, LGP, V2

anyone have this, or at least know if it is LG or Samsung? I am guessing LG from the LGP but I might be wrong. Thanks.
