I called Dell about a week ago and asked a sales rep about this. He insisted that the Latitude D820 was a Santa Rosa notebook in Canada - that my info about the D830 being the SR notebook only applied to the US. I'm pretty sure he was lying. Can someone confirm this.

Which brings me to ask, when will Dell bring any SR notebooks to Canada? I'm interested in anything with a 15.4" screen or larger.

He's a liar. Check if it says 7100, 7300, or 7500 for the processor, but I'm pretty sure they don't. Those are the Santa Rosas (odd numbers).

I just checked the Dell Canada site (Small Business store)... they're NOT Santa Rosa.

Since it seems quite high in demand around here, I actually asked a rep when the Santa Rosa stuff would be out in Canada and they'd only tell me soon. They apparently aren't told an ETA so they said I'd just have to wait.

Weird... isn't Dell notebook are all built in Malay and supplied to US and Canada? If they are from the same plant, I guess it's a matter of time.
