This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Say. All that skipping in the audio is gone. Not sure what "fixed" it.

    Was there a new patch that did it? If not I installed the SigmaTel High Def Codec from Dell (Who sent it for free to me)

    Try to check if you have "disable all enhancements" unchecked in the control panel, under sounds properties. That might have fixed the problem.

    i struggled with this problem with dell for a long time...

    all i did was put a DVD in the drive, and it worked FINE! 100% flawless...

    but if theres not a DVD in there... then its back...

    maybe a fix for those that didnt know?

    Well IF it was a patch it was part of the regular Windows Vista stuff so if I got it, you probably got it via automatic updates.

    Tried that a while ago, no dice.
    Interesting. Perhaps I should try that out.
