Just curious what your experience has been with these vs previously ordered new or refurbished. It appears that Dell says these can have significant cosmetic damage, previously used, (damaged by user?).

Some cosmetic scratches I can live with but not busted pieces or scratched screen.

I bought the Dell in my sig from Dell Outlet. Its a Refurbished model. When I got it , it was nearly flawless except for two tiny scratches on the side of the lid, which are not noticeable unless I get close. Every thing else was mint. I really wanted one with XP but they didn't have one at that time. I gotta say though, Vista is not the monster I thought it would be from all the reading I done on it before I made the purchase. Every thing worked right out of the box just like it should. So my experience with Dell Outlet has been a good one!
