Which resolution is the best to get.....or has the least cases of graininess.....i heard the 1400x900 was the worst about being grainy but i may be wrong......thx for the help

The lower the resolution the better your chances for getting a non-grainy screen is the consensus here. My screen is WSXGA+, suffers from slight grain on a white background and has one dead pixel around the bottom left area of the screen.

The general belief is that the higher the resolution, the more chances you have of getting a grainy screen.
However, when you do get a nice high res screen, it looks REALLY nice. -
I have a WSXGA+ screen and it is beautiful. Not grainy at all.
