    I'm planning on getting a 6400 Inspiron (Know as e1505 in the US I believe) and I can't seem to find the resolution for the 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™.

    If it helps, here are my options:
    [IMG]

    I asked a sales guy, he told me that Wide Screen XGA (CHOICE 1) is WSXGA and that therefore the resolution is 1280x800. He aslo told me that the only difference between choice A and B is the UltraSharp feature in choice B.

    Then I went on to check this :

    I can't seem to find which is which. CHOICE A can't be the first one from the left because that is not supported on the 15.4" screen but it also can't be WSXGA+ seeing as that screen's resolution is 1680x1050.

    I am really confused.

    Can you guys shed some light on this ? I'd really like a 1280x800 resolution. Anything less and the icons would be big as hell :(

    EDIT : Crap, I just noticed this is the DESKTOP hardware forum. Could a mod move it to a more appropriate forum ?

    WXGA=1280x800
    WXGA+=1440x900
    WSXGA+=1680x1050

    If you want 1280x800 you want WXGA ( the first choice. If you look carefully it says widescreen XGA)

    Sorry I don't have mod powers to move this thread, but I think I answered your question. :)

    Any others, let me know, I owned an e1505 for quite a while.

    Yeah it did, thanks :)

    Another question : what screen do you have ? I'm leaning towards the WXGA+ for the increased resolution. If you've seen the two screens, is the second one worth the additional 50$ (canadian) ?
