Dell came today and replaced my grainy Samsung screen with...another grainy samsung screen. I took the following video of the hinge after the technician left (after having "fixed" the hinge because it was floppy after he reassembled the machine). Just watch the distance between the silver hinge barrel and the black chassis.

*Edit: I fixed it as much as I could. One of the screws anchoring that hinge to the chassis was sticking up halfway out of its hole and crooked. The other screw is slightly stripped and doesn't seem to be able to go all the way in. At least it seems to be fastened properly, but I'm apprehensive about any further technical assistance that Qualxserv may offer in the future.

Can I do that under the terms of the warranty? Have them send me the part, I do the swap-out, and ship them the old one? It would save everyone a lot of grief and time.

This is why I returned my laptop even though they were going to send me an LG screen. I heard many people say that they were getting an LG only to get a samsung and then I heard many people say that the tech left their laptop in worse condition than it was in before.
Apparently changing the screen is a pretty delicate process. I saw the service manual and it involves almost taking the laptop apart. You need to remove wires from their guides, the keyboard, the panel above the keyboard, the back control cover, the battery (only easy part), the screen bevel and finally the screen. Looks like everything in the laptop is packed pretty tightly.
I wasn't going to let them open up my brand new laptop to replace a bad screen. :<
